Abbreviation: DCT

Decentralised clinical trials, or DCTs, is an operational model of clinical trials in which trial activities are designed to take place at, or in the vicinity of, the participant’s home, rather than at a traditional clinical site. This approach can make use of technologies and other innovative operational approaches to facilitate data collection.

NB. Decentralised clinical trial (DCT) is to be used in preference to Remote decentralised clinical trial (RDCT) (Source: Trials@Home Executive Board October 2021)
